DAWG provides a safe and loving environment for dogs awaiting permanent adoption, and promotes their adoption through outreach programs in the Santa Barbara community.
Most of the dogs in our care come from Santa Barbara county shelters. Our primary goal is to reduce the rate of euthanasia in the county shelters by providing the medical care and training many dogs need for a second chance at life.
Since DAWG’s inception in 1991, we have worked hard to bring out the best in our dogs, improving their quality of life during their stay at the shelter, and placing healthy, well-behaved dogs back into the community.

Miss Daisy is a sweet girl who is looking for her new forever home. Daisy was adopted some years ago to a couple who is now having to move due to ill health and sadly cannot take her with them. She is impeccably clean, and looks like a toy teddy bear. She sticks close to her people, is happy hanging out watching TV, taking nice walks along the park, and sleeps by their bed at night. If a stranger enters the property, she alerts and barks, but quiets down as soon as she is told all is Okay. Daisy does need to go to an adult only home with a dog experienced person. She is scared when meeting new people, but will warm up and become a loyal companion. If you think you could be Daisy's new forever home please contact DAWG at 805-681-0561.
