Madonna may have been a special guest performing at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest, but she managed to steal the spotlight with her political statement. As Billboard reports, the pop star performed two songs during the show in Tel Aviv, Israel, on Saturday. First she sang "Like A Prayer." Then Migos' Quavo joined her onstage to perform their new collaboration "Future." At the end of the song, two dancers ascended an onstage staircase hand-in-hand--a man wearing an Israeli flag on his back and a woman wearing a Palestinian flag. The words "Wake Up" then flashed on the screen. The broadcasters of the show were surprised by the statement, saying, "This was not part of the rehearsal." Madonna--whose forthcoming album is Madame X--tweeted early Sunday morning, "Madame X is a freedom fighter...I am grateful. For the opportunity to spread the message of peace and unity with the world."
